# Basic Agent

> Run a basic agent against a local LM Studio model and print the markdown response.

## Code

```python basic.py theme={null}
from agno.agent import Agent, RunOutput  # noqa
from agno.models.lmstudio import LMStudio

agent = Agent(model=LMStudio(id="qwen2.5-7b-instruct-1m"), markdown=True)

# Get the response in a variable
# run: RunOutput = agent.run("Share a 2 sentence horror story")
# print(run.content)

# Print the response in the terminal
agent.print_response("Share a 2 sentence horror story")
```

## Usage

**1. Install LM Studio**

Install LM Studio from [here](https://lmstudio.ai/download) and download the
model you want to use.

**2. Install dependencies**

```bash theme={null}
uv pip install -U openai agno
```

**3. Run Agent**

Save the code above as `basic.py`, then run:

```bash theme={null}
python basic.py
```
