# Image As Input

> Pass images to agents for analysis and description.

Agno supports images as input to agents and teams. Take a look at the [compatibility matrix](https://agno-v2.mintlify.site/models/compatibility.md#multimodal-support) to see which models support images as input.

Let's create an agent that can understand images and make tool calls as needed.

```python image_input.py theme={null}
from agno.agent import Agent
from agno.media import Image
from agno.models.openai import OpenAIResponses
from agno.tools.hackernews import HackerNewsTools
agent = Agent(
    model=OpenAIResponses(id="gpt-5.2"),
    tools=[HackerNewsTools()],
    markdown=True,
)
agent.print_response(
    "Tell me about this image and give me the latest news about it.",
    images=[
        Image(
            url="https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0c/GoldenGateBridge-001.jpg"
        )
    ],
    stream=True,
)
```

## Usage

<Snippet file="create-venv-step.mdx" />

**1. Install dependencies**

```bash theme={null}
uv pip install -U openai agno
```

**2. Export your OpenAI API key**

```bash Mac/Linux theme={null}
  export OPENAI_API_KEY="your_openai_api_key_here"
```

```bash Windows theme={null}
  $Env:OPENAI_API_KEY="your_openai_api_key_here"
```

**3. Run Agent**

```bash theme={null}
python image_input.py
```
